In this episode of the Sorta Healthy Personal Trainers Podcast I have a conversation with the very successful personal trainer and business owner Evans Armantrading. Evans owns CNU Fit and CNU Stretch. He currently owns three fitness studios in Delaware that all offer semi-private personal training and assisted stretching.
I first saw Evans present at the Growth Summit conference hosted by Tim Lyons in 2025. Evans had done something that many people had tried but failed to do. He successfully integrated assisted stretching services into his personal training business, and he did it in a way that did take anything away from his personal training services. In fact, all of his stretching services have only made his personal training staff and clients better off as far as I can tell.
With CNU Stretch, Evans assisted stretching certification course, he is changing the entire landscape of the stretching service. Unlike NASM, Stretch Center, etc. his course has an online and an in-person component. In my opinion assisted stretching is really something you have to learn in-person. Online only certs probably wont cut it for most. Evans is an example of what's possible to achieve in the personal training world. I hope his success will inspire other personal trainers to go after their goals and change the industry in new positive ways.

What's up guys! Jeff and Alexis from Sorta Healthy here! In this episode of the Sorta Healthy Personal Trainers Podcast we're talking about things that we've changed in our personal training business over the years that have greatly increased our success.
I said "Made Our Personal Training Business Twice As Successful" in the title, but in reality, it's probably quite a bit more than that. Some of the changes that we've made have already been discussed quite a bit here on the show, like switching to semi-private personal training, but others are new.
How you bill or charge your personal training clients, how you handle scheduling and what software you should use, how you interact with clients, and a bunch of other things are broken down here.
If you have any questions about running your personal training business let us know in the comments! Thanks guys! Love ya!

In this episode of The Sorta Healthy Personal Trainers Podcast we're talking about starting our personal training careers over again. If we did have to start from square one, what would we focus on?
Unfortunately, personal trainers are fed a ton of bs information by other trainers, really they're more grifter than trainer, and that info gives trainers unrealistic expectations. These people are trying to sell you courses and mentorships, etc. They couldn't make it as trainers but maybe they can make it by selling you some BS.
Our first order of business in starting our personal training careers over again would be to ignore everyone like this. Step two in our new personal training careers would be to find a mentor that pays you instead of you paying them.
Stick around for the rest of our career advice!

In this episode of The Sorta Healthy Personal Trainers Podcast we are breaking down the worst things we've ever said to our personal training clients?
Are we successful personal trainers? Yes. Do we run a good personal training business/studio? Also, yes. Despite that success, there's been plenty of times where we've put our foots into our mouths and said the wrong thing.
Sometimes these personal training mistakes just ended up being funny. Other times, we were unsure of whether or not our own words did damage to our business.
Anyways, if you're looking for help running or starting a personal training business, you're in the right place! If you're looking for some laughs as you advance your personal training career, you're also in the right spot!
Thanks for watching and listening!

Hey guys! In This episode of the Sorta Healthy Personal Trainers podcast we're talking about social media and whether or not it actually matters for the average personal trainer.
*Spoiler* Having a presence on social media does in fact make a difference for any personal trainer, that said, it matters less than most people think.
So, in this episode our goal is to explore how much social media matters for the average trainer. Why many personal trainers over emphasize the importance of having a big following (they're being lied to), which platforms and what type of content to focus on. We also dive into in-person vs online personal training and why social media marketing matters for both but far more for one of those options.
If you have any social media questions about personal training make sure to ask those in a comment! Thanks for the support guys!

We talk about one-on-one personal training vs semi-private, pricing your training sessions, over programming clients routines, over estimating personal training clients abilities and much more!

In this episode of the Sorta Healthy Podcast we are reacting to James Smith who is a successful personal trainer and entrepreneur. He recently made a video titled:
"If I Were A PT and Starting Over, This Is How I'd Make $100k A Year"
Link here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lc2Av1X2O3c
So, do we agree with what James Smith says about making $100,000 a year as a personal trainer or disagree? No surprise, it's a little bit of both. Also, we review his black belt short form mastery course as well. Creating short form content can be a useful pilar in a personal training brand. Is this $99 course worth it? We give our take on that as well.
Link to that course here for those interested.

In this episode of the Sorta Healthy Podcast we discuss why the average personal trainer is so bad at their job. False expectations, short attention spans, the list goes on and on. Really we actually have a list of 7 things that we feel cause personal trainers to fail, or just to be bad at their jobs.
